Ivan Velkov was born on 7 November 1970 in Sofia.

He has over 25 years of experience as a consultant and manager in international and Bulgarian companies, where he trained and managed teams for work on investment projects.

Mediator, entered in the Unified Register of Mediators at the Ministry of Justice.

He graduated in economics in Beijing, where he later worked as a consultant for international companies in China. In 1999, he returned to Bulgaria and started working as a key customer manager and strategic HR manager, and subsequently became the general manager of the real estate consulting firm Colliers International Bulgaria.

Ivan Velkov successively became a member (2007), deputy chairman (2009), and subsequently chairman of the Management and National Council of the National Real Estate Association NSNI (2011-2013), as well as chairman of the commission on professional ethics in the Association (2014) Currently, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of the NSNI.

Leads courses and lectures in the "Real Estate Management" department at UNWE as a part-time teacher (since 2012).

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Fiabci Bulgaria - the International Federation of Real Estate Specialists (since 2014).

Chairman of “Interactive Bulgaria” Foundation.

Deputy Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council (2015-2019). Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Environmental Protection, Agriculture and Forestry; Member of the permanent committee on territorial planning, architecture, accessible environment and housing policy, and of the committee, according to the Law on countering corruption and confiscation of illegally acquired property.

In March 2017, he was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of BGFMA - Bulgarian Facility Management Association (of which he has been a member since 2015).

In December 2018, he was elected a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Industrial Association.

Married, with four children.
