RULES
for the admission of members
of the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business (BIA)
SECTION I - GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1. These Rules regulate the procedure for admission of members of the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business (BIA), hereinafter referred to as the Association for short.
Article 2. (1) Membership in BIA is voluntary.
(2) Members of the Association may be Bulgarian and foreign legal entities carrying out business activities in the country, collective associations, universities, scientific units and other institutions and legal entities of private law that do not carry out business activities, including individuals who can assist in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the organization.
SECTION II - PROCEDURE FOR ACCEPTING MEMBERS
Article 3. (1) Membership relations arise after a decision of the Management Board of BIA, adopted on the basis of a written application according to the form - Appendix No. 1, in which the candidate for membership declares that he accepts the Statute of BIA.
(2) The application for membership in the Bulgarian Industrial Association - Union of the Bulgarian Business is submitted electronically to the address office@bia-bg.com, by mail or on site, at the secretariat of BIA, at the address: Sofia 1527, 76 Chataldzha Str.
(3) Applications are processed in the order of receipt and are entered in a special register containing the registration number and date of receipt, attached documents and an indicative date for consideration by the Management Board of BIA.
(4) In the application, the applicants shall indicate:
- name, registered office, address, UIC or BULSTAT of the applicant for membership;
- the names of the persons managing and representing the applicant, the method of management and representation;
- subject of activity and economic sector of the main subject of activity;
- number of persons employed under an employment contract;
- minutes or a transcript of the decision of the relevant management body of the applicant for membership in BIA.

- the applicant for a collective member shall indicate the economic sectors in which he and/or his members have main interests and subject of activity, as well as a list of his members.
Article 4. Method of considering membership documents:
- Applications for membership in BIA received shall be reported immediately to the Secretary General of BIA;
- On the basis of Art. 7, para. 1 of the Statute of BIA, the Secretary General shall submit the received applications for membership to the Board of Directors for consideration. The Board of Directors shall decide on each application for membership in the organization, and the BIA Secretariat shall notify the respective candidate of the decision;
- The Board of Directors may invite a representative of the candidate to its meeting when reviewing his/her membership documents.
SECTION III – ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DECISIONS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Article 5. (1) The decisions of the Board of Directors to accept new members shall be announced after signing the minutes by the Chairman of the Board;
(2) The BIA Secretariat shall notify the candidate in writing of the decision of the Board.
(3) The decision shall be issued as an official certificate of membership in the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business and shall be provided to the newly admitted member after payment of a property contribution.
(4) Newly admitted members shall be entered in the Register of Members of the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of Bulgarian Business.
TRANSITIONAL AND FINAL PROVISIONS
1. These rules were adopted on the basis of Section III. “Membership, Rights and Obligations” of the Statute of the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of Bulgarian Business, at a meeting of the Management Board held on May 18, 2017, and repeal the Rules for Admission of Members of the Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of Bulgarian Business, adopted on November 11, 2013.
2. These rules enter into force on June 1, 2017.
