Emilia Stefcheva holds a Bachelors Degree in English and American Studies from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and specialized in Saarland University in Germany. She has two Masters Degrees from Sofia University – one in Journalism and another one in Translation and Interpreting. She studied for a while in the United Kingdom and did an internship at the Diplomatic Institute with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Mrs. Stefcheva is a well-experienced translator and used to work for a while in the United States and Germany in the field of event management and customer service. Prior to her employment at BIA she worked as a part-time English teacher at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.

Emilia Stefcheva has worked as a Protocol Officer at BIA since January 2010. Some of her main responsibilities include scheduling meetings, organizing business trips, assisting foreign guests, translating and interpreting, offering technical assistance etc. Furthermore, Mrs. Stefcheva is in charge of translating, updating and maintaining the English version of BIA’s official website, as well as the websites of the projects run by the association.

Mrs. Stefcheva is fluent in English and German.
