Prof. Dr. Vasil Zhivkov was born on 01 April 1964 in Sofia. He has been the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Wood and Furniture Industry since 2021. He is a member of the Board of Directors and representative of Bulgaria in the European Furniture Industry Confederation (EFIC).
In 2003 he was appointed Associate Professor of Furniture Design and in 2018 Professor of Furniture Design. In 2020, he became head of the Department of Interior Design and Design for Furniture. Prof. Zhivkov also teaches at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the Department of Interior and Design for Architecture.
He has more than 90 scientific publications and reports, of which more than 40 abroad, as well as more than 40 popular scientific publications. Dozens of times he has been a design jury in prestigious competitions such as Dibla Design Award, Bulgarian Furniture of the Year, Design of Industrial Products - Cherga, Concept BG, Ecodesign, etc.
