Business is ready to adopt the euro. This was said in the studio of "Good Morning, Europe" on Euronews Bulgaria TV by the deputy chairman of the Bulgarian Industrialists' Association Stanislav Popdonchev. He assured that with the adoption of the new currency there will be no negative changes in the lives of Bulgarians, but on the contrary - a gradual increase in income is expected.
Here is what else he said:
- Unprecedentedly, we are the only country in Europe where business and unions support the country's membership in the Eurozone.
- For the average person, nothing much will change on January 1, 2026, except that we will not go to a currency exchange office before going to Greece.
- How do we imagine that with an economy of 100 billion euros we will be able to pay the debts of France and Germany? This is absurd.
- The process is complicated. If we miss this "window" for adopting the euro in 2026, it may be postponed for an unknown long time.
