BIA SUPPORTS THE DRAFT LAW ON FOREIGNERS IN BULGARIA, SUBMITTED BY THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

BIA has sent its position to the National Assembly on the Draft Law on Foreigners in Bulgaria. We believe that the proposals of the bill are balanced and constructive, in response to the most common practical problems of enterprises.

We express satisfaction that a large part of the proposals given in the framework of the public consultations, related to improving the regime and removing difficulties in accessing the labor market of foreign workers from third countries, have been taken into account and reflected in the final bill approved by the Council of Ministers and brought to the attention of the National Assembly.

BIA, as a representative organization of employers at the national level, has for years consistently paid attention to the problems related to the labor shortage, improvement and simplification of the procedure for employment of foreigners, opportunities to reduce the number of documents required for issuance of permits for access to the labor market of persons from third countries, study of the possibilities for new legal grounds for access to the labor market, etc.

That is why we support all legislative efforts in this direction and welcome many of the proposed amendments and additions provided for in the bill.
