BIA SUPPORTS AMENDMENTS TO THE LABOUR CODE REGARDING TELEWORK
BIA expresses its support in principle for the draft Law on amendments and supplements to the Labour Code submitted for consideration by the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation.
The draft develops the regulations relating to telework, with the main focus being telework where the workplace is fixed outside the employer's premises. It is important for us to continue to discuss legislative solutions suitable for teleworking where the workplace is not predetermined but only determinable.
For the members of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the main challenge in implementing the existing teleworking regime is the application of occupational health and safety requirements to workplaces that are not under the control of the employer. We believe that this issue remains open and we continue to seek a mutually acceptable solution with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
