THE NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT AGENCY LAUNCHES STUDY ON THE EMPLOYER'S NEEDS FOR STAFF
The National Employment Agency has launched its first study for 2021 which examines the employer's requirements for their staff. The research is based on Article 10 of the Employment Promotion Act, combined with the Employment Commissions of the Regional Development Councils in the 28 districts in the country.
The survey reaches a statistical sample of 8,000 employers of different sizes and statuses, representing all sectors of the economy across the country. They will receive an invitation to fill in an online questionnaire and indicate what skills, competencies, and occupations job applicants and staff in their companies should possess. Employers can also state their needs for workers without special qualifications, as well as those requiring specific legal capacity.
This study is being carried out for the third time, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers expect that the socio-economic consequences of it will once again affect both the number and type of staff that employers demand or will have to lay off in the upcoming months and years.
The data that the study gathers in the next 12 months will help direct the short-term measures and programs for administering appropriate forms and training for acquiring professional and key skills, demanded by the employers. Lay-off forecasts will help decide on the continuation, update, or creation of new adequate measures for the job preservation of the employed staff, especially in some of the economically vulnerable sectors to the pandemic.
The gathered information from the employers in terms of the specialists they require will help determine the priorities in the field of education, training, and employment promotion. This will consider not only the ongoing crisis but also the evolving technologies and labor organizations, occurring at a rapid pace over the past 12 months.
The National Employment Agency relies on the active participation of employers in the statistical sample, which will be invited to participate in the survey. The questionnaire will be available until April 16th, 2021, after which the results will be summarized and analyzed on a district and national level, and the information will be published on the website of the Employment Agency.
