UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPPED TO 10.14% IN MARCH
The unemployed are 4000 fewer than in February
The unemployment rate was 10.14% in March according to preliminary statistics by the Employment Agency. In other words, the number of unemployed decreased by over 4 000 in comparison to February when the unemployment rate was 10.26%. The decrease has been the first in a year and a half. The number of unemployed registered in the Labour Offices was 375 000 in March.
At regional level, the unemployment has been decreasing most rapidly in Varna Region (by more than 1500 unemployed) and less in Haskovo Region (by 280 unemployed). In Plovdiv Region the unemployment rate remained steady. Burgas region is the only one where unemployment rate rose by 600 people.
