On Saturday, 4 June, an extraordinary meeting of the International Organization of Employers (IOE) was held within the current 93rd Session of the International Labour Conference currently taking place in Geneva (Switzerland).
Representatives of employers’ organization in over 100 countries from all over the world participated in the meeting. Official speakers during the session were the presidents of Renault, Coke-Cola, Telephonics, Toshiba, the Tokyo Stock Exchange as well as the President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Bojidar Danev.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) was the focus of discussion at the forum. Mr. Danev has stated in his speech there exist already too many international standards by which the politicians attempt to transfer the responsibility for the settlement of a number of social problems onto the business. According to BIA’s President the introduction of many restrictions towards the business is also due to the consolidated lobbying on the part of the international auditing companies which endeavour to press the companies performing audits by still more parameters.
