She was also co-rapporteur on the Resolution “EESC’s contribution to the 2023 European Commission’s work programme”

At the meeting of Group 1 “Employers” of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) held on 13 July 2022, the Vice-President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Mariya Mincheva was appointed as Vice-President of the Group.

Today, during the 571st plenary session of the EESC, the Resolution on the EESC's contribution to the European Commission's work programme for 2023 was also voted with an absolute majority of 195 votes.

Mariya Mincheva was one of the rapporteurs of the Resolution.

In her speech, she emphasized the need to accelerate the development of Europe's strategic and technological autonomy and limit, as far as possible, EU dependencies. Maria Mincheva emphasized that at the same time this should not lead to barriers to trade and cooperation. "Europe must protect global trade rules, ensure a level playing field and find the balance between strategic autonomy and openness to international trade by promoting a strong industrial base and sustainable international supply chains," she added, and appealed to the EC to prioritize further removing barriers to the free movement of goods and services, which would benefit everyone – customers, workers and businesses.

In her speech, the Vice President of the BIA also noted the need for a realistic energy policy, stability and security of energy supplies, the need for strong innovation support for industries for the development and implementation of green technologies and business models, greater and targeted investments in the digital infrastructure and even more attention to cybersecurity issues to ensure the security and prosperity of EU citizens and businesses.
