The main parameters of the draft budget of Sofia Municipality for 2022 were presented today by the Deputy Mayor of Sofia Doncho Barbalov to the heads of the Bulgarian Industrial Association - Mr. Dobri Mitrev, President of the Board and Mr. Stanislav Popdonchev, Vice President of the employers' organization.
The budget of Sofia Municipality for this year is projected to be BGN 2.078 billion. Of these funds, 41% are state-delegated activities, 15% are European funding of projects and 44% are own revenues of the municipality.
BGN 584 million from the budget is the amount of Sofia's investment program. 54% of the capital program is provided from own funds and loans, and the rest - 46% or BGN 272.9 million from won EU programs. 15.3 million is the target subsidy from the state for investments.
The negative impact of rising energy prices and the war between Russia and Ukraine on social and economic life in the country and across Europe were also discussed at today's meeting.
The BIA expressed readiness for expert assistance for more efficient separate collection and separation of municipal waste in the municipality.
Traditionally, before holding a public discussion of the budget of Sofia, the project is presented to the media, political groups in the Sofia Municipal Council, business organizations and trade unions.
