Hundreds of thousands of jobs can be filled by Ukrainian citizens arriving in our country, but there is some obstacle with the documents.
"So far, it is estimated that up to 200 000 people fleeing the war in Ukraine could be accepted and included in the labor market in Bulgaria. There are many issues facing us. This will be the profile of those refugees who come, their qualifications, even in terms of gender and age," said Jasmina Saraivanova of the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
She added that a large number of men who are of active age are currently mobilized in Ukraine.
"Those who are over this age will come here, as well as women and children. Their status is key to the speed with which people can be included in the labor market. There is a huge difference between those who already have dual citizenship. The other category is those who will apply for refugee status and humanitarian status. And the others are those who are of Bulgarian origin, these are the Bessarabian Bulgarians, who have specifics in their inclusion," said Sariivanova.
Those who arrived in our country can enter almost all areas.
"We have a request from the IT sector that they can involve up to 30 000 specialists, also in the textile industry up to 20 000 people. We have specific inquiries from construction companies that say they can accept people. But some of them have a problem with the language barrier," she explained.
And for people who only have Ukrainian passports, there will be a National Headquarters to deal with these issues. Sariivanova is adamant that there will be no discrimination against pay.
