At an official ceremony yesterday were awarded the winners in the various categories of the competition "BAIT Awards" for 2021. This year the event was held in a virtual studio and was broadcast online.

The award for special contribution was announced by Plamen Slavov, Secretary of Spirituality and Culture, who welcomed President Rumen Radev, patron of the awards. "The information and communication technology sector through its accessibility, mobility and applicability is an indisputable factor essential for social development," said Plamen Slavov. According to him, information technologies have an impact on the development of the education and health system, as well as in the field of management of production processes and provision of services.

Winner of the award for special contribution to the development of information and communication technologies in Bulgaria is Prof. Dr. Eng. Sotir Sotirov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Postgraduate Qualification of the University "Prof. dr. Asen Zlatarov ”, Burgas. With his activity and dedication Prof. Sotirov gives his significant contribution to the development of ICT in Burgas and the region, which is becoming the new fastest growing IT destination outside Sofia.

Winners:

  • Youth award - Shopping energy project to eighth-graders Antonia Miteva and Rumyana Ivanova from Burgas. This is a working, certified shopping cart prototype that produces "clean, green" electricity that can be used to charge the customer's phone while shopping, or to transfer to a larger rechargeable battery after shopping in the parking lot.
  • Educational award - ABILITICS Ltd. for the online platform "Chatmat". The innovative learning tool assists students in mastering mathematics by answering questions immediately and specifically on the learning material.
  • Journalistic contribution - Dorothea Nikolova, BNR/Radio Varna, author and host of the show for entrepreneurship and innovation "Start Up"
  • Public administration award - National Revenue Agency for the project: "Upgrading the main systems of the NRA to provide data and services to internal and external systems."
  • StartUp award - AMPECO Ltd. with charging station management software
  • Successful Bulgarian ICT product/service - ZenHold AD for the development of innovative VR technology, combining the techniques of photogrammetry and gaming.
  • Successful ICT project for the benefit of the Bulgarian economy - Dental Clinic Dr. Parusheva. In 2021, the hospital will start offering dental services on the same day through 3D printing and a fully digital workflow.
