"We expect that the more real, significant reforms that this government will propose, will be seen not in this budget, but in the budget update." This was said in an interview for BNR by Maria Mincheva, Vice President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association before employers' organizations present their priorities for the year.
So far, the intentions for compensation due to the increased prices of energy sources are satisfactory, but they are not a fact yet, the employers report.
"Because these are drastic jumps, which entail an increase in all other prices and an increase in inflation," Maria Mincheva explained.
Regarding the disputes over the minimum wage, Mincheva reminded that it is still not clear how it is formed:
"Whether they should be leading social indicators or leading economic indicators. We still do not know the number offered for the minimum wage - how it came about. We have been objecting for many years that there is no objective mechanism."
Vouchers and raising the ceiling of the quota to BGN 1 billion are admired by employers, Mincheva commented.
"These are necessary compensations for the workers. That will allow employers who can afford it to help their workers."
The employers also want to discuss the course of the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability and the notes on it, it became clear from the words of Maria Mincheva.
"We do not know exactly what the remarks are and what the government intends to do, in what timeframe."
The funds under the Plan are a chance for the Bulgarian economy not only to survive, but also to recover and modernize, she added.
We cannot escape from the policies set at the European level - green transition and digital transition, said Maria Mincheva from BIA.
According to employers, the introduction of digital technologies should be the focus.
