In connection with the national protest announced by the Bulgarian Association of Establishments (BAE) and the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria, on January 27th, 2021, at 12.00, the Bulgarian Industrial Association reaffirms its position expressed so far, namely:

  1. Bulgarian business understands the need to take restrictive measures aimed at preserving people's lives and health, but these measures must be accompanied by:
  2. a clear justification of the necessity of the application of exactly these rules;
  3. adequate economic measures for the period of the so-called lockdown, to compensate as much as possible the losses from the inability to exercise their activity.
  4. The lack of a clear timetable for the recovery of closed businesses and the refusal to comply with pre-commitments in this regard are a prerequisite for escalating tensions and does not contribute to overcoming the negative consequences of the corona crisis.

In this regard, we support the well-founded demands of our members for a clear timetable for the resumption of their activities in compliance with the norms of service safety, as well as for timely economic and social measures to compensate for losses which incurred as a result of the cessation of activities.
