On the 14 and 15 of June 2018 in “Albena” resort in Flamingo Grand Hotel (ARA Hall) will take place an international conference on the priority role and significance of the Black Sea region in the context of the White book of the European Commission.

The goal of the forum is to emphasize on the role and significance of the Black Sea region and to link the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency with the following Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, regarding the policies for the Danube and Black Sea regions.

The forum is co-organized by the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The forum will be officially opened by Radosvet Radev – Chairman of the Managing Board of Albena AD and member of the Managing Board of BIA, Dr Milena Angelova – EESC Vice-president in charge of budget, and Jacek Krawczyk – President of EESC Group I “Employers”.

The first day of the forum includes presentations by representatives of the authorities in charge of implementation of the policies, set out in the Danube strategy – Ministry of regional development and public works, Association of Danube River Municipalities “Danube”, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, etc.

The second day of the forum is focused on cooperation in the field of tourism and the relationship between the Black Sea region and the Danube Strategy. The agenda includes welcome addresses by Nikolina Angelkova - Minister of Tourism, Oleg Petkov - Deputy Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and Michael B. Christides - Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

Representatives of employers’ organization from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, members of EESC will be discussing the potential of small family and traditional businesses to boost development and economic growth in the regions the opportunities for transregional cooperation in non-traditional forms of tourism, the sustainable development of tourism infrastructure and rural tourism, etc. Best practices in the field of marketing and promotion of tourism destinations will also be presented. The agenda also includes visiting sites related to the theme of non-traditional forms of tourism, as well as meetings with the mayors of Balchik and Kavarna.

The conclusions of the conference will be handed over to the forthcoming Austrian Presidency in order to continue the activity.
