BIA STANDPOINT ON DRAFT LAW ON THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
BIA has sent its standpoint on the Draft Law on the Promotion of Research and Innovation to the chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science.
In the standpoint it is noted that BIA cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth in drafting the Law on the Promotion of Research and Innovation.
We believe that this law is extremely important and fundamental for providing the necessary conditions for the development of research and innovation in Bulgaria.
The law should incorporate a comprehensive vision on the actions of the administration and solve the problems with coordination between the different state institutions called upon to work on the promotion of research and innovation, as well as to ensure a close and firm link between policies aimed at science, education, economy, employment.
We proceed from our conviction that the Law must overcome the insufficient understanding of the goals and role of fundamental and applied science, as well as the lack of a good strategy tied to a long-term vision for the development of fundamental and applied science and, especially – for the relationship of science with business.
Fostering innovation and innovative enterprises is key to dealing with the country's strategic dependencies and positioning it in international supply chains, which predetermines the crucial importance of the Law on the Promotion of Research and Innovation for the long-term economic development of the country.
