SUBJECT: Bill amending the Medical Establishments Act, sign. 054-01-117, submitted by Daniela Daritkova on 16 December 2020.

The Bulgarian Industrial Association - Union of Bulgarian Business (BIA) expresses its unequivocal support for the submitted Bill amending the Medical Establishments Act.
As early as November 10th, 2020, after the announced intention for the collective resignation of the members of the Management Board of the Association of Municipal Hospitals in Bulgaria (a member of BIA), BIA signaled in its letter that the current text of Art. 20, para. 3 of the Public Enterprises Act does not allow the participation of doctors working in these hospitals in the management of municipal establishments. Following this set procedure would further aggravate the severe staff shortage of the actually working medical staff in municipal hospitals. Therefore, we insisted on undertaking the necessary legislative amendments to the Medical Establishments Act - a position that we still continue to fully support.
Given the arguments above, we call on you to support the submitted bill.
