THE FUTURE OF BULGARIAN BUSINESS AFTER JANUARY 1ST 2007 WAS DISCUSSED BETWEEN THE EU MEMBER-STATES AMBASSADORS, BIA REPRESENTATIVES, AND BRANCH ORGANI
In the late noon of October 19th was held a meeting between “BIA – Union of the Bulgarian Business” and the ambassadors of the EU Member-states. The meting was attended by representatives of BIA members’ branch organizations.
The goal of this meeting was to be presented the readiness of the business organizations in Bulgaria to face the full membership of our country in EU after January 1st 2007. In this relation, the diplomats were introduced to the actual status of the employers’ movement in Bulgaria, and the partnership contacts of BIA and its member branch structures with similar European organizations.
It was also noticed that 32 of the 102 BIA members, are a members of relevant European structures. Part of these branch organizations (from the metallurgic, chemistry, electro, mining, dairying, meet, and the construction industry) that attended the meeting, gave information on their international activities, their membership in similar European structures, the bigger partnership projects in the sphere of the social dialogue, the applying of Euro-standards in sectors, etc.
The foreign diplomats showed interest in the expectations that the business representatives have on actual problems of the socially-economical development of Bulgaria, in the context of the forthcoming full membership of our country in EU. Among the discussed topics were: the labor market, the qualification of human resources, emigration, corruption, licensing and tax regimes, etc.
