FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS AS OF 31.12.2025 - PRELIMINARY DATA
The foreign direct investments in the non-financial sector as of 31.12.2025 amounted to 36 839 million euro at current prices, representing an increase of 8.7% compared with the 2024.
Comparison with the previous year is not applicable to the sectoral structure, due to the entry into force of the new Classification of Economic Activities NACE Rev. 2.1.
As of 31 December 2025, the largest volume of foreign direct investment was recorded in the 'Manufacturing' sector - 11 273 million euro, followed by the sectors 'Wholesale and retail trade' - 7 583 million euro and 'Telecommunication, computer programming, consulting, computing infrastructure and other information service activities' - 4 367 million euro.
According to preliminary data in 2025 the expenditure on acquisition of tangible fixed assets in all sectors of the economy amounted to 44 138 million BGN and increased by 18.4% compared to the previous year.
Comparison with the previous year is not applicable to the sectoral structure due to the entry into force of the new Classification of Economic Activities NACE Rev. 2.1.
In 2025, the largest volume of investment in tangible fixed assets was made in the industry sector, amounting to BGN 14 132 million, followed by the services sector (trade, transportation, storage and postal services, accommodation and food service activities), with BGN 8 284 million.
