According to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the industrial production index increased by 0.4% in June 2026 compared with the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted.

Compared with June 2025, the calendar-adjusted industrial production index decreased by 2.5%.

Monthly changes

In June 2026, compared with May 2026, industrial production increased in manufacturing, by 1.6%, while declines were recorded in mining and quarrying and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 10.8% and 2.7%, respectively.

Within manufacturing, more significant increases were recorded in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – 40.3%, and the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment – 15.7%.

Declines were recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment – 7.4%; the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – 7.0%; the manufacture of wearing apparel – 6.5%; the manufacture of rubber and plastic products – 6.1%; and the manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture – 6.0%.

Annual changes

Year-on-year, a decline in industrial production based on calendar-adjusted data was recorded in mining and quarrying, at 49.1%. In contrast, growth was recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – 10.0%, and in manufacturing – 1.3%.

Within manufacturing, significant year-on-year growth was recorded in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – 39.3%; the manufacture of electrical equipment – 19.6%; and the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. – 19.2%.

More significant declines were recorded in the tanning and dressing of leather; manufacture of footwear and other products of leather, at 30.5%, and in the manufacture of wearing apparel, at 18.7%.
