WOMEN FROM SCIENCE AND BUSINESS GATHERED FOR A MEETING IN BURGAS

 “The world undoubtedly needs science to address the global challenges of our time. Science, in turn, needs women with their creativity, determination, fighting spirit and activity, with which they contribute to the development of the world for the better.” This was shared today by Prof. Dr. Maria Neykova – Regional Governor of Burgas, during the opening of the tenth meeting of women in science and business.

She added that Bulgarian women have always been part of the spiritual and scientific wealth not only of Bulgaria, but also of the world. “We women breathe soul into everything we touch and do,” said Prof. Neykova.

Among the official guests of the event were also Vesna Baltina – Deputy Mayor “Strategic Development and Ecology, Digitalization and Adaptation to Climate Change” of the Municipality of Burgas, Prof. Dr. Sevdalina Turmanova-coordinator of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts Burgas and vice-rector of the Bulgarian State University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov", Eng. Vidka Valcheva-vice-chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts-Burgas, cor. member. Prof. Alexander Kostov-coordinator of the national academic network.

A lecture on "The role of women scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the spiritual and technological development of Bulgaria" was delivered by the president of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - cor. member. Prof. Evelina Slavcheva. She shared that women always work with heart and soul, along with reason. "Both in our personal and professional lives, when we have made a commitment, it does not matter whether we feel good or not, we have to do our job," she added.

The other lecture on the topic "The contribution of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to the development of the national scientific research and innovation system" was presented by Prof. Dr. Neli Koseva, chief scientific secretary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
