Nearly 30% of companies in the country already use artificial intelligence in their business.

"We did a survey to find out what's happening amid the global AI race and the results were quite interesting. It turned out that 25-26% of companies are now using AI in their business processes. Another 10% are planning such an investment. The companies that are using it are in the electronics, biofood, and information technology sectors. There are companies that are hesitant and are willing to wait to use AI. They want to see what the regulations will be, as the act on artificial intelligence has been adopted by the European Parliament, but has not been finally voted on. They want to be sure before they invest. The other obstacle is that they think they don't need it," said the representative of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Christina Kasparian in the studio of "Bulgaria in the morning".

It turns out that some employees rely on artificial intelligence covertly from their employers to optimize their work.

"About 18-19% of companies say it's too expensive for them, but if we take ChatGPT as an example, it's not expensive at all. There is a phenomenon that employees from such company use it surreptitiously to optimize their work. Some of the employees are worried though. They want to optimize their work, but they don't want to be replaced. In order not to be replaced, they need a certain type of skill. We have other surveys on the digitalization of enterprises in Bulgaria and more than 60% of them think they have a low level of digitalization and about 69% of employees in enterprises are worried that they do not have the necessary skills for this transformation," said the representative of the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
