A VIDEO CONFERENCE HALL UNDER THE "MODERN-A" PROJECT WAS OPENED IN THE FACULTY OF PHYSICS OF SOFIA UNIVERSITY
In the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University, the official opening of a video conference hall, equipped under project BG05M2OP001-2.016-0018 "MODERN-A: MODERNIZATION in partnership through digitization of the Academic Ecosystem", financed by the Operational Program "Science and Education for Intelligent Growth" in its higher education modernization part co-financed by the EU through the European Structural and Investment Funds. BIA is a partner in the project.
In the newly equipped hall, shared classes will be held on the joint master's programs developed within the project.
The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Krasimir Mitev, head of the Atomic Physics Department at the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University and head of the Master's program "Medical Physics", who noted that within the project the Faculty of Physics cooperates with the Technical Faculty of Plovdiv University and together introduce this joint program in medical physics in English. He also noted that they have long-standing traditions and experience in teaching the specialty in Bulgarian, and they are already training 12 students in this program in a hybrid form.
The MODERN-A project is aimed at building a modernized academic ecosystem in a partner network. It will solve this task by developing and implementing high-tech solutions for learning and teaching, developing competences tailored to the labor market, increasing the qualifications of teachers, promoting interdisciplinary and inter-institutional academic initiatives, supporting mobility to foreign higher schools and scientific organizations , resource sharing. In the course of the implementation Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will coordinate the efforts of 9 universities, 3 employers' organizations and over 20 associated partners. The broad scope of the consortium provides complementary expertise from various fields of knowledge and economics as a user of personnel trained in higher education. The team focuses its forces and resources exclusively on priority professional areas - pedagogy, physics, chemistry, mathematics and biotechnology.
