BUSINESSEUROPE: CHANGE SUBSTANTIALLY FOR BETTER PRACTICALITY
Ahead of the Environment Council’s General Approach on the revision of the Industrial Emissions Directive, BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer states: “Change substantially for better practicality”
- “BusinessEurope calls on EU Environment Ministers to amend the Commission’s proposal for the revision of the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) substantially for better practicality. The revision in its current form micro-manages companies. It adds complexity, duplications with existing legislations and creates legal uncertainties for companies.
- This risks to further slowdown permitting procedures for industrial installations and limits our global competitiveness. European businesses now need an IED that focuses on faster permitting processes and reduced regulatory burden to speed up innovation and green transformation of industries in Europe.”
