CRITERIA AND AMOUNT OF THE FUNDS UNDER THE SCHEME FOR GRANTING GRANTS TO THE TOUR OPERATORS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED

The Council of Ministers adopted a Decree on determining the conditions, criteria, procedure and amount of funds under the scheme for providing grants to tour operators for reimbursement of funds from clients on unrealized trips as a result of COVID-19.

The measure is being developed as a state aid scheme in the form of grants for tour operators who are experiencing difficulties due to the COVID pandemic and have obligations to repay amounts due for missed trips to their clients in the period 01.03.2020 to 31.12.2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aid is provided solely to reimburse clients and cannot be spent on other needs.

The administrator of the aid is the Ministry of Tourism.

The funds under the new state aid scheme will be paid after receiving a positive decision from the European Commission on the compatibility of the aid with the internal market on the basis of Art. 107, paragraph 3 (b) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
