BULGARIAN COMPANIES WITH A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT DURING ONE OF THE BIGGEST EXHIBITIONS IN THE AFRO-ARABIAN REGION

Bulgarian defence industry companies made a significant impact during the „EDEX 2021“ event – one of the biggest exhibitions in the Afro-Arabian region specialized in the field, that took place between 29th of November and 2nd of December 2021 in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Representatives of twelve local companies demonstrated Bulgarian production, distribution and research and development capabilities in the defence sector. 

Bulgaria was one of the countries that were in the spotlight thanks to the institutional support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy. In this regard, the “Bulgarian Defence Industry Association – acad. Stefan Vodenicharov” expresses personal gratitude to the Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva, who participated in the opening ceremony of the prestigious forum and presented the capabilities of the Bulgarian industry during her official appointments. Other participants in the Bulgarian delegation were Lieutenant General Dimiter Iliev – Deputy Chief of Defence, His Excellency Deyan Katratchev -  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Mr. Georgi Nedyalkov - trade representative to the Arab Republic of Egypt. We, the “Bulgarian Defence Industry Association – acad. Stefan Vodenicharov”, have repeatedly emphasized that the defence industry is structural for the Bulgarian economy and institutional support for the sector is very important for its future competitiveness and sustainable development.

More than 400 exhibitors from all around the world participate in the „EDEX 2021“ event and organizers expect the number of visitors to exceed 30 000 people.
