The European Commission has approved a Bulgarian scheme worth BGN 30 million in support of companies in the tourism sector affected by the pandemic. The aid will be provided in the form of direct grants, BNR reports.

To be able to take advantage of it, companies must have had a drop in turnover of at least 30 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year.

The aid granted to one beneficiary may not exceed 20% of its turnover in 2019 or not more than BGN 1,8 million.

The funds will be used to overcome the liquidity difficulties of the enterprises in the tourism sector, which occurred as a result of the pandemic.

They will be released no later than December 31 this year.

Interdepartmental coordination is forthcoming within the framework of a prepared project, which determines the conditions, criteria, order and amount of funds to be provided to enterprises.
