BULGARIA RECEIVES SUPPORT IN ITS RECOVERY, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND DIGITAL COHESION TRANSITION
The European Commission has approved the amendment of four operational programs (OPs), which will increase the available funding for investments from REACT-EU by nearly EUR 562.5 million for Bulgaria, Finland, France, and Lithuania.
Cohesion and Reform Commissioner Eliza Ferreira said: "The funds that the four countries will receive will help them build a bridge to long-term recovery. I encourage other countries to take advantage of the opportunities provided by REACT-EU to help ensure a fair and inclusive recovery, as well as the environmental and digital transition. "
In Bulgaria, the amendment of the Operational Program "Growing Regions" will support long-term infrastructure changes, as well as investments in modern health services.
As part of Europe's NextGenerationEU, REACT-EU provides additional funding by € 47.5 billion (€ 50.5 billion in current prices) for cohesion policy programs in 2021 and 2022. The measures are aimed at supporting the sustainability of the labor market, jobs, SMEs, and low-income families, as well as the environmental and digital transition and sustainable socio-economic recovery.
