The Bulgarian National Association of Municipalities launched the initiative to hold a wide discussion concerning the future development of local self- government in the country during the next 10 years.

The plan includes a regional forum for mayors and chairs of Municipal Councils, baring the title “MUNICIPALITIES BG 2030- Local Leaders Speak”.

The program foresees moderated discussions, which will examine the important issues for the future development of the Bulgarian municipalities. The participants include not only mayors and chairpersons of the municipal councils, but also key municipal experts, analysts and media representatives.

One of the meetings, discussing the current state and future development of the North Central and North- Eastern municipalities, will take place in Veliko Tarnovo on 23-24th of April (Tuesday & Wednesday).

The Chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Radosvet Radev will participate within this panel with the topic “An External Viewpoint for the Development of Local Self- Government in Bulgaria – What do the media, businessmen, citizens and analysts expect from the municipalities”.

Mr. Radev will share practical experience from the collaboration with the municipalities and will offer suggestions for the improvement of the interaction between them and the business branches.
