The Executive Chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, Bojidar Danev, elected Vice President of BusinessEurope at the annual meeting of the Presidents of the European Business Organization, held on 30 November and 1 December this year, Tallinn (Estonia).

BusinessEurope is the leading European business organization. It was established in 1958 and its headquarters are in Brussels. With its 40 national members (industrial and employers' federations), BusinessEurope represents 20 million large, medium and small businesses in all sectors of the economy in 34 European countries. President of BusinessEurope in 2013 is Emma Marchegaglia (president of the Italian business organization Confindustria).

BusinessEurope is the voice of European business, which plays a decisive role in Europe, as a major horizontal business organization at EU level. Its main objective is to represent and defend the interests of European businesses in European institutions by assisting in corporate competitiveness. BusinessEurope is one of the most prominent lobbyists in the EU institutions and has its views on key issues influencing the decision-making process in the European Commission and Parliament. BusinessEurope is also a key participant in the European social dialogue with trade unions.

BIA is the only Bulgarian organization that has been a member of BusinessEurope since 1999 and is actively involved in its activities.

BIA will host the next meeting of the BusinessEurope Presidents' Council, to be held in Sofia on 17 and 18 May 2018.
