EIGHTH BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF BULGARIA
On December 8, 2009 in Sheraton Hotel, Sofia, Eighth Business Roundtable with the Government of Bulgaria organised by Economist Conferences will gather the ministers from the economic team and more than 200 senior business executives.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will take part in the business forum with the main theme: Time for a fresh start: "Lets' show that Bulgaria can."
The worldwide roundtables, organised by Economist Conferences, part of The Economist Group, have three main purposes. First, to help senior managers understand the business environment of the respected country. Second, to present the main government policies and strategies to the participants. Third, to create a tribune for informal dialogue between investors and key ministers. For the first time the forum in Bulgaria will be opened by Richard Eames, Conferences Programme Director CEMEA, Economist Intelligence Unit.
The event will also feature the presentation and discussion of a major international survey among senior executives on doing business in Bulgaria, carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
The following topics will be in the focus of the discussions during the roundtable:
- Bulgaria's growth prospects for 2010 and the medium term.
- Is the new government giving enough investor-friendly signals?
- What can Bulgaria do to attract more foreign investment?
- The likely timetable for euro adoption.
- Can Bulgaria's financial sector provide steady credit for businesses?
Bulgarian Industrial Association is a supporting organization and will be presented by Mr. Kamen Kolev - Vice President of BIA.
