BIA SHALL CELEBRATE ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY
The Bulgarian Industrial Association will celebrate festively the 30th anniversary from its foundation on Tuesday, 27 April 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan's Sredets Hall. Among the guests will be Ms Tsetska Tsacheva, President of the National Assembly, Mr. Antonio Penalosa, Secretary General of the International Employers' Organization, ministers, deputies, national institution heads, NGOs, foreign delegations, social partners, companies, and the media.
The prize winners in BIA'a annual competition for contributing to the Bulgarian economic development will be bestowed the IN-5 Awards at the forum. The awards shall be bestowed for the sixth year in a row. Their name, IN-5 Awards, stands for the five basic pillars of economic prosperity, namely, Industry, Investments, Innovations, Intellect, and Initiatives.
Immediately prior to the celebration, Mr. Penalosa and the Managing Board members of BIA will meet the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Boiko Borisov, for a business breakfast.
Mr. Penalosa's schedule includes also a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Totyu Mladenov, on Monday, 26 April 2010, at 10:00 a.m. and a meeting with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov.
Two more events shall be conducted in the light of BIA's 30th anniversary. These are the following:
- On 26 April 2010, Monday, from 11:30 to 12:30 in BIA's Conference hall (16-20 Alabin Str.) a meeting with branch organizations, members of BIA will take place. The major topic for discussion will be "Structure and Management of Employers' Organizations - Modern Tendencies in the European Union".
- On 26 April 2010, Monday, from 14:00 to 18:00 in BIA's Conference hall (16-20 Alabin Str.) a forum of the CEE employers' organizations will take place whose main topic for discussion will be "EU New Industrial Policy and Opportunities for Cooperation in the Denube Region."
