Third regional meeting on the project LUDUS will be held on September 27, 2011 in "Vihren" Inter Expo Center, Sofia, from 9.30 to 17.00.

The meeting is organized by the BIA and is held within days of European entrepreneurs.

Summit participants will discuss opportunities for the use of so-called business.serious games as effective tools for staff training. Will demonstrate concrete applications of serious games in practice and will be presented practical ideas for creating games, incl. will be demonstrated free software for their development.

Branimir Handjiev, senior director of BIA and National Project Coordinator LUDUS, will present the results of this year's competition in serious games and the participation of Bulgarian specialists in open learning lab project that will enhance information exchange and cooperation between developers of serious games .

The term "serious games" is new for Bulgaria. Conducted in April 2011 market research showed that 76% of potential users have heard of "serious games", but those bags are less familiar with them and only about 25% of them know what they are. 50% of people who have heard about serious games, learned about them last year.

Once familiar with the term "serious games" almost all respondents say they think serious games are suitable for training and adult, and that would have been interesting to play such games in the future. Furthermore, nearly 40% of respondents considered that serious games would give better results than other training tools.

There is a relatively high level of willingness to use serious games, but as the main obstacles faced by organizations in their introduction, respondents stand a lack of information and funds.

The majority of respondents believe that a market for serious games in Bulgaria (64%) and they represent an interesting field of future investment potential (84%).The main barriers highlighted in this respect are:
Lack of money (34.7%);
The lack of experts in general (30.6%);
Lack of knowledge of serious games (26.5%).
