THE BULGARIAN ELECTRIC POWER - A FOREIGN TRADE MIRROR PERSPECTIVE
"The Bulgarian economy openness determines the direct impact, which the foreign trade has on the Bulgarian producer and customer. The electricity production, export and import are also of primary importance to the countries, connected to Bulgaria only through a power transmission line.
There are countries around the world, like Bulgaria, which for different reasons and at different moments, conceal their data of publicly available national statistics. Then the mirror foreign trade statistics steps in to shed some light. We use the world import and export data for the period 2001-2008, available by Trade Map, International Trade Center (ITC)/ WTO: UNCTD – Geneva. We use the mirror statistics for Bulgaria, which does not offer data for its electric power trade in accordance with Subdivision tariff 271600.
