PROFESSOR STEVE HANKE TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE IN BULGARIA CAPITAL
Professor Steve Hanke is paying a visit to the Bulgarian capital Sofia, where he will take part in an international conference themed "Education and business – Financial education for a stable economy".
The event will be held on Monday, May 11, at Sredets Hall of the Sofia Hotel Balkan, Bulgaria ON AIR announced.
Professor Hanke, who is also known as the "father of the Bulgarian currency board", will be awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa honorary degree of the Varna Free University Chernorizets Hrabar. The higher education establishment will present him with the degree over his contribution to the development of modern economic theory and transfer of innovative practices of raising the economic and financial culture of the young in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The solemn ceremony at which Professor Hanke will be presented with the honorary degree will take place in the frames of the above-mentioned international conference, which is organised by Bulgaria ON AIR Media Group, Bloomberg TV, and media group Investor.bg.
The forum is to be opened at 9:00 a.m. and Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Kalfin wil deliver a welcoming speech.
Professor Hanke will open the international conference debates, speaking on the topic of ”The problem of financial education in Bulgaria. How to solve it?”
The scientist’s press conference is scheduled to start immediately after the forum ends, at 12:30 p.m.
Varna Free University Chernorizets Hrabar is the main partner of the event.
The conference will be also held with the support of University of Economics – Varna and Provident Financial Bulgaria.
