BULGARIA REGIONAL ENVIRONMENT INSPECTORATE EXPERTS IMPOSE FINES AT NEARLY BGN 70,000 IN SEPTEMBER
Experts of the Bulgarian regional environment and water inspectorates in Bulgaria have imposed fines estimated at some BGN 70,000 over cases of polluting of the environment, the press centre of the Ministry of Environment and Water announced.
Checks into the meeting the requirements in the permits for discharging wastewater were a priority for the experts.
Sanctions were imposed in Varna, Haskovo, Montana and Veliko Tarnovo over violations in discharging wastewater in surface water sites.
In September the regional environment and water inspectorate experts completed 1,905 checks of 1,693 sites.
715 cases when instructions were given on eliminating the violations were reported.
Some 75 written statements over violations, some 9 of which concern failure to comply with previously provided instructions, were registered.
