“Resources the state has to paid to businesses over suspended operational programmes amount to nearly BGN 1 billion,“ said Kamen Kolev, deputy chair of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, speaking for Radio FOCUS.


He stated the political insecurity had already begun to influence the state of the business environment and the economy.


The expert said further suspended financing under operational programmes had affected a number of sectors and the construction sector experienced the most difficulties as the projects there were in most cases costly.


Kolev remarked Bulgaria had not received a single euro from the European Commission (EC) under OP Environment since the end of last year, while some financing under OP Regional Development had also been more recently suspended.
