Dutch businessman William van der Berg bought 23 ha of arable land near the village Koprivlen on the Greek border. The retired pharmacist has been investing in Bulgarian land for years. He has decided to grow herbs, flowers and vegetables.

The products will be exported to a large extent. “They are growing hips. There will be roses, and later vegetables. He currently employs 7-8 people. In the future there will be at least 25,” said village mayor Ivan Dinchev.

William van der Berg is certain of profit because there are excellent conditions to grow herbs, flowers and vegetables in the area.

The retired businessman also plans to build a modern storage facility on the property. He bought 5 ha near Borovo village, Gotse Delchev, where he will also grow agricultural produce.
