BULGARIA’S EXPORTS TO GERMANY UP BY 31.6% Y/Y JAN – AUG 2013
In the period January - August 2013, Bulgaria's exports to the EU increased by 8.3 % over the same period last year. According to preliminary data of the NSI, the exports reached BGN 17.1 billion in the first eight months of the year.
The major trade partners of Bulgaria were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and France. These formed 68.3% of Bulgaria's exports to the EU Member States.
To alone Germany, Bulgaria has exported goods worth nearly BGN 3.6 billion, which is a 31.6% year-on-year increase for the January – August period.
Bulgaria's imports from the EU for the period January - August 2013 increased by 0.7 % over the same period last year and amounted to BGNN 19.5 billion. The largest terms of value of goods was imported from Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and Spain.
The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria and the EU for the period January - August 2013 was negative and amounted to BGN 2.3 billion.
