Turkey is keen on a plot for its third nuclear power plant not far from the Black Sea coast, near the border with Bulgaria. A final decision has not been made yet but this is the favourite choice so far, became clear from the statement of the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, cited by the website gazday.com.

The town of İğneada has been chosen for building the new plant due to the low risk of an earthquake there and its closeness to the coast, which is convenient for transporting the nuclear reactors and easy access to water to be used for cooling. Ankara is also among the options for the location of the third nuclear power plant.
