BULGARIA RECEIVED BGN 63 MILLION FROM UNDERGROUND RESOURCES CONCESSIONS IN 2011
By December 31, 2011, a total of 382 concession contracts were in force in Bulgaria for the production of underground resources, including construction and stone tile materials, metallic and non-metallic minerals, industrial minerals, fossil fuels, crude oil, and gas.
According to the summarized report of the inter-departmental committees on control over concession contracts, 33 of the total of concession contracts were signed in the period March 1, 2011 – end-2011, according to the government's press office, cited by Sofia News Agency.
Receipts from concession fees amounted to BGN 63 247 million for 2011, up by 34%, or by BGN 16 070 million, from the previous year.
Deductions to municipalities came in at BGN 23 907 378, more than twice more the amount in 2010, when municipalities were transferred a total of BGN 11 184 577 in concession fees.
