The salaries in the public sector, in the public administration will go up by about 20% as of August, Bulgarian Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov said in an interview with This Morning program of bTV.
He added the salaries would be raised after the Civil Servants Act and new payment model come into force this week.

The inflation rate is some 7-8% cumulatively in the past three, three and a half years. The public administration salaries will be higher only by about 20% in August, cumulatively about 30-35%, said Minister Dyankov.

He predicts that this year’s inflation will be about 2% lower than last year’s.
“At the end of this government’s term we make people feel better, not only in terms of museums, motorways, opera houses…, but also in terms of incomes which will be higher than in the middle of 2009,” said the finance minister.

Simeon Dyankov noted the major task was to make the rise in salaries higher than the inflation rate.
