Bulgaria voiced its stance against the setting of a mandatory condition in the future regulation for development of the rural areas, reading that the member-states should spend at least 25 percent of the programmes' budget for environmental measures (agroecology, climate, bio agriculture, NATURA 2000, water management and disadvantaged areas), Radio Bulgaria informs.

Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Finland also expressed the same stance.

"Instead of this the member-states should be able to adapt the level of payment in accordance with their own specifications and difficulties, since there are no guarantees that the implementation of a mandatory minimum will lead to equal results in the different countries," Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Svetlana Boyanova stated before the participants in the EU Agricultural and Fisheries Council in Luxembourg.
