The Eurasian Economic Commission expresses its deep concern over the expansion of sanctions towards the Republic of Belarus as a Member State of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Area.

Owing to the high level of cooperation between the economies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, such sanctions create risks of determent to companies of the Customs Union. They also hinder development of productive and mutually beneficial cooperation and have negative consequences, first of all, for economic entities and ordinary citizens, creating artificial barriers in trade and for conduct of business.

The Eurasian Economic Commission stands for elimination of ungrounded trade barriers that contradict international law and insists on complete abolition of adopted sanctions.

The Eurasian Economic Commission calls upon all countries applying these sanctions, including the European Union, to renounce the practice of economic pressure and solve existing disputable issues in intergovernmental relations by means of dialogue and on principles of mutual respect.
