BULGARIA'S BUSINESS CLIMATE SEES SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT IN APRIL
The business climate indicator in construction increased by 8.7 in comparison with March, according to the National Statistical Institute
Bulgaria's business climate has improved by 3.2% in April in comparison with the previous month, according to surveys carried out by the country's National Statistical Institute, quoted by Sofia News Agency.
The business climate indicator in industry increased by 1.8% compared to its level in March which is due to the shifting of managers' assessments about the present business situation of the enterprises from "satisfactory" to "good." The present production activity continues to be assessed as decreased, and in the expectations about the business situation and the activity in the branch over the next months some optimism has been observed but it is more moderate compared to the previous inquiry.
The business climate indicator in construction increased by 8.7 in comparison with March. In terms of construction activity, expectations for the next 3 months remain optimistic but slightly more reserved compared to March.
The business climate in retail trade improved by 2.3%. The major factors limiting the activity in the branch continue to be the uncertain economic environment, the insufficient demand and the competition in the branch.
In the service sector, the business climate indicator improved by 1.5% as compared to March. The uncertain economic environment is the most serious factor limiting the activity of enterprises in the sector.
