Bulgaria rates third in a European competition for energy saving in households, engineer Zdravko Georgiev, director of Sofia Energy Agency, said at a press conference, while presenting the competition 'European Citizens Climate Cup,' a competition between households from 10 countries and regions against the CO2 emissions, FOCUS News Agency reported.

CEZ Bulgaria has supported the competition. The competition gives each household an opportunity to learn how to save energy. They can register online and get information about energy consumption in similar households in other European countries. The prize for Bulgaria is EUR 2,000 and there are three categories.

500 Bulgarian households have joined the competition so far and the ultimate goal is 750.
The winner will be determined on the basis of the number of households and actual economy. In the remaining two months of the competition Bulgaria can outdistance the other participants.
