The Government will discuss amendments to the Protection of Competition Act, stipulating the introduction of contractual deadlines for payment for supplies as well as specification of the authority of the Commission for Protection of Competition in connection with its actions against unfair practices and abuse of market power.

This became clear at a meeting between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Economy Minister Traicho Traikov and representatives of the 'Made in Bulgaria' Union," reported the Government's press office.

The idea of building wholesale markets and markets for direct access of clients to the production of domestic enterprises, without middlemen and additional increase of prices also received a positive response and support at the meeting. According to Traicho Traikov, such an idea can be implemented in close cooperation between business representatives and the local government.
