BULGARIAN GOVERNMENT ADOPTED THE CONVERGENCE PROGRAMME 2009-2012
Bulgarian Government adopted the Convergence Programme of Bulgaria for the period of 2009-2012, the government's press service announced on Wednesday. The Programme addresses the parameters of sustainability of the fiscal policy, in line with the recommendations of the Stability and Growth Pact and the Lisbon Treaty.
The Programme is a corner stone in the negotiations for Bulgaria's accession into the Euro area "waiting room" - ERM II, the government added.
Maintaining the macroeconomic stability and the sustainable economic growth rates are the main priorities of the government in the medium term.
The Programme will be passed by the Council of Ministers till January 31 and then it will be presented to the European Commission.
